Nina Tresbonne is the middle child of the influential Tresbonne family. She is on the run from bounty hunters who seek to capture her and her daughter alive. Nina is brash, selfish and opportunistic, but she is also strong and fiercely loyal to her daughter.
Bezyl Tresbonne is an odd little girl who doesn’t speak much. Having lived most of her young life on the run with her mother, she knows little safety and security. However, Bezyl proves resourceful and adapts to life’s challenges easily. She immediately liked Jeyes when she met him, much to the annoyance of her mother.
The mysterious and taciturn Xerxes works as a bounty hunter. Cautious and ever-observant, he is attuned to the energies of nature. He seems to know something about Jeyes…
Charlie Benz also works as a bounty hunter, although he isn’t very good at it. He has self-described bad luck and struggles to make his place in the world. Charlie has a sarcastic sense of humor and a quick temper.
The enigmatic Loka meets Jeyes in the nearby town of Chailo.
